“We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians” Nelson Mandela 4 December 1997.
The NATIONAL COALITION FOR PALESTINE (NC4P) was constituted in 2014 for the purpose of ensuring justice, peace and the protection of the Human rights and dignity of the Palestinian people living under illegal Israeli Occupation, Apartheid policies, tyranny and oppression.
In particular, the NC4P’s establishment follows calls to have a unified approach to protest action that will pressure government and corporations that support and allow Israel to perpetuate its oppression of the Palestinian people.
The mandate to the NC4P therefore revolves around opportunities to improve various aspects of education, across the entire spectrum of society, including government heads and departments, corporations, educational institutions and civil society formations.
The NC4P was constituted by organisations that focus on various aspects of the Palestinian struggle with a broad set of skills including academic, media, legal and community leadership.
The NC4P will engage with various stakeholders in developing a broad based coalition for the liberation of Palestine and the establishment of Justice for the Palestinian and other oppressed peoples the world over.
The NC4P will seek to give effect to the principles of transparency, consultation and involvement of all coalition partners and the relevant stakeholders, in a manner that is consistent with the objectives of the NC4P and its processes and procedures within the spirit of coalition formations.
We, the NC4P comprising various organisations and institutions who have over the years acted in solidarity with the Palestinians living under Israeli Apartheid and who have been subjected to colonisation, dispossession and acts of incremental genocide;
Fully aware of the interconnectedness of all human suffering and the debt of solidarity that we owe each other and firmly believing that an injury to one, is an injury to all;
Rejecting the patent untruths of imperialism and those that attempt to set themselves up as honest brokers who would have us believe that this is a dispute between religious groups;
Expressing grave concern at the contravention of UN resolutions and breaches of international law;
Recognise and condemn
- The illegal occupation of the historic Palestinian lands;
- Israel’s ongoing collective punishment of Palestinians;
- The war crimes committed with impunity by Israel;
- The continued discrimination and repression against Palestinians;
- The ongoing plunder of Palestinian lands and natural resources in further entrenching Israel’s Apartheid policies;
- The continued exile of millions of Palestinian refugees;
- The knowledge that many governments and multinational corporations have given Israel direct economic, financial, military and diplomatic support;
- The role of various institutions of global governance in obstructing diplomatic efforts of Palestinians toward their liberation.
We resolve to renew our commitment to act in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians inside the occupied territories, in the Diaspora and within all of historic Palestine occupied by the State of Israel; and
Reaffirm and commit ourselves with other freedom and justice loving people both nationally and internationally to pursue the liberation of all Palestinian people.
